“Heidi” have been down the road together. I have never sat on a horse with more heart and try. She continues to give me her everything. Let see where to start her story…..I bought her as an untouched 3 yr old out of a pasture of 100 mares. She just spoke to me and I am beyond blessed that she did. We have made 7 trips to Colorado for pushing cattle in the mountains, we have completed a 25 mile LD Endurance ride, we have roped heels enough to be a certified heeler, been on cow catching adventures where I roped too deep on a heifer that weighed as much as she does but Heidi didn’t complain, we couldn’t stop the heifer but we slowed her down long enough for friends to catch her. Then there was the time we were flying across a frozen pasture catching cows when we hit a patch of ice at a run that lasted 3 strides, I’ll never forget that I felt like Bambi on ice, legs going every where but on the other side, we were standing and we kept trucking. Good times! Then we have her show career, where I didn’t do her justice. She loves to cut and would have loved working cow horse but I wasn’t in a place I could pursue it. She will eat a cow up and is so smart about it. We have shown in AQHA, TNSA, ARHA. Anything we could do. I can’t imagine the number of trail miles she has. She retired from riding, sound at 18. I wouldn’t be afraid to climb on her bareback and go jump the moon and run down a crazy cow. Heidi is game any time!! If you can’t tell, I love my girl.
