About Tilly
Tilly has all the fire you’d expect from a hot-blooded red mare, paired with an exceptionally smart mind. She has plenty of energy and try, but no buck or foolishness. What I appreciate most is how well she takes care of her rider—she thinks through what we ask and puts her heart into the job.
We have shown her across the ranch classes, from cutting and trail to ranch riding. She has also competed in NCHA cutting, although we haven’t earned money together yet. Tilly has been hauled extensively and is easy to have along on the road. We also started her heading, where she was developing into a nice head horse.
With great feet, plenty of bone and size, and the heart we love in her mother, Heidi, Tilly brings a lot to our breeding program. She is the kind of mare who gives us more to appreciate than a pedigree alone—because we know what she has to offer under saddle.
Pedigree Highlights
Tilly’s sire, High Brow Hickotoe, is by Neon Belly Dancer, a son of High Brow Hickory, and out of Nosey Bess. His pedigree also includes Doctor Wood and Otoe, bringing those bloodlines together with Tilly’s dam, MS Zanawhite.
For us, the value of this cross is something we have experienced under saddle. Tilly’s intelligence, heart, and ability across ranch classes, cutting, and her start in heading give us plenty to appreciate as we choose sires for her.
